I am from Somerset, New Jersey, and have tutoring experience in a wide range of math and science subjects, including different biology topics, elementary and high school math, chemistry, physics, algebra 1 and 2, and calculus 1. I can also help students with writing and editing essays. Because students have different ways of learning, my tutoring approach is to first assess a student's learning style in order to accommodate his specific learning needs in tutoring sessions. In this manner, sessions are productive, interesting, and fun for students. I also believe that communication is very important and that one-on-one tutoring sessions may be more advantageous than group sessions. With one-on-one instruction, a tutor can use individualized lesson plans that are best suited to helping the student better understand a given subject. I have six years of tutoring experience. Additionally, I am presently a biology TA and an instructor for a college course in this same content area. I attended Rice University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in evolutionary biology and ecology. I am currently working on my PhD degree in the Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources Department at Rutgers University. I enjoy being outdoors and relaxing. I like to rock climb, hike, and go camping.
