B.A. American Studies, Philosophy Minor from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and with Highest Departmental Honors. I ended with a 3.98 GPA in the top 1.5% of my graduating class. I also belong to several academic honors societies.
Experience
My Senior Honors Thesis on Camden, New Jersey won several awards including the Henry Rutgers Scholar Award, the highest honor for those who wrote honors theses. With respect to education/teaching, most recently, I assisted two Rutgers professors with grading for an introductory course on American Studies, and another on the influence of sports on American Culture. Additionally, I've been tutoring/teaching for over five years. I have the most interest and experience in tutoring students in the Humanities. I have helped many with studying more efficiently and with general difficulties in History (particularly of the United States), Women and Gender Studies, Literature, and more. My strongest subject areas would definitely be United States History, Race and Ethnic Studies, Writing, Vocabulary, and English. I know a bit about Latin American History, too. I also scored in the 93rd Percentile (5/6) for the GRE Analytical Essay section, and in the 88th Percentile (161) for the Verbal section. I truly love to learn, teach, and watch those I help blossom into great writers and successful students. I will strive to get my students A's every time and I've taught many people with varying strengths and weaknesses that have all seen appreciable grade improvements. I can pretty easily dissect an individuals learning style and try to accommodate them as best I can.
